Can't start up a copy of an M2 drive
My wife's old laptop has all the tools she needs, but the M2 drive is only 250Tb and too small. I bought a 500Tb Crucial P3 Plus enclosure with USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports to hold it in. I tried Todo Home and some other cloning software, but neither works. Every time we put the cloned M2s into the laptop, it just keeps trying to start without any error message. Changing BIOS settings didn't help either. EaseUS Support looked at both drives over TeamViewer and said everything looks good on the clone except for something on the original laptop that costs $150 to fix. I don't like paying a fortune just because of a few hundred terabytes. I tried repairing the Windows 10 install, but nothing worked. What else can we try?
Another program: Macrium Reflect's free trial. You can clone your disk or create an image of it. Macrium will either method work for you. If cloning breaks, try the other way around. It all depends on what works best. Both steps could go wrong at any time. Imaging needs two moves: first save a file, then restore it back. Cloning is just one move. I usually stick with imaging because it feels easier.
Thanks for letting me know. Being new and having an age of eighty makes things a bit hard to understand. Why can one special program let me create a bootable copy while my other two programs did not work that way?
