I’m setting up on a partition and after installation and reboot it just displays a blank screen with a blinking cursor. I’m using a Lenovo IdeaPad 5 (Ryzen 5 4500U) as a NAS server at home via USB, and I’m trying to connect home assistant and zoneMinder. The Docker bridge under Windows isn’t working, so I’m switching to Debian on a USB stick. I need guidance on getting a graphical Linux OS so I can install everything.

I went through it quickly but I can tell it from PIS when starting up.

The system is starting but the GUI isn't loading. It could be related to a graphics driver problem... consider connecting to a terminal by pressing ctrl+alt+F2

It seems you're currently using Tty2. You don't need to load a driver unless the installation process indicated otherwise. Double-check the setup steps and ensure everything is configured correctly. If unsure, refer to the official documentation for Tty2 guidance.

it's getting a bit late, but i'm curious about the debian version you chose for the usb drive. the options seem to range from free drivers only to minimal install with desktops included. i think you might have missed picking a desktop during setup or perhaps forgot to add the login manager. you can still install a desktop, but make sure it's selected when choosing the package. otherwise, you'll end up with just the essential system if you didn't include a login manager. it used to be straightforward, like just running "startx" recently, but i'm not sure if that's still the case.
