That's because over the past decade, the top speeds have stayed around 5 or below. Fifty is great, but paying for 80 only gives you 15 to 20 Mbps.

The NBN is just a couple of streets away, but it's been two years and they're still late. I'm really frustrated, ADSL is so slow.

The current situation indicates a lack of demand for quicker connections. Without sufficient demand, the NBN co won't be able to deliver them.
