: Can't remove this spyware!
It's a warning message at the bottom right of a Windows PC. I have a screenshot, but I'm having trouble sharing it. It appears to be offensive, showing a nude woman asking for inappropriate actions. It showed up on my wife's work computer while kids were watching Netflix. I've tried various scans and spyware tools, but nothing worked. Do you know what it is?
What antivirus software did you attempt?
Occasionally AVs fail to recognize such items because they appear as popups, only activating when malicious activity occurs and attempting to block them.
You can try checking the process through Task Manager, navigating to the location of the process, deleting it along with other suspicious files manually.
I’ll go into detail: Open Task Manager and wait for the popup to show. Once it appears, a random process will start using minimal CPU and a small amount of RAM. Set Task Manager to display apps sorted by descending CPU usage. Wait patiently until the popup reappears, then right-click the process and select "Open file location." This will reveal the file’s path, allowing you to delete it and hopefully prevent future appearances.
