cant reach 3200mhz
cant reach 3200mhz
before you ask, yes, I created an XMP profile. My RAM is running at 3133MHz now, but I’m not reaching 3200MHz. My motherboard supports up to 3446MHz. I have the Corsair 16x2 GB 3200MHz RGB edition, and here are my specs.
I know it's marketed as supporting up to 3200mhz, but it's never actually confirmed. The gap between 3133mhz and 3200mhz would be practically identical in reality. If this bothers you, I'd consider returning it within the return window if a replacement is available. I might also test Prime95 at 3133mhz for a few hours just to check stability before the higher speed.
Is the RAM approved for your motherboard and compatible with the list of supported components? Even then, occasionally you need to adjust the settings yourself in the BIOS. This might seem challenging at times, particularly when you're unsure about the details.
I faced a comparable issue with my Ryzen 5 3600x, GB X570UD motherboard, and G.Skill 3600 RAM. Setting the XMP profile didn't allow it to reach 3600, only 3533. The speed drop was likely normal in your situation. I attempted to adjust the RAM timing manually with the Ryzen Memory Calculator, but it still failed. After updating my BIOS to the latest F20a a few weeks ago, the RAM finally ran at XMP 3600. Good luck!
