I haven't had success with hwinfo and monitor for my fx 6100. I always see a 14c on idle and about 25c under load around 80%. At the time, I found that only AMD overdrive would show accurate temperatures even with thermal margin. It seems 62 was the maximum for the fx 6100, though I'm not sure if that's correct. Don't use overdrive or any software to overclock as advised. Also, you shouldn't need to increase the voltage for such a small overclock since the boost only affects one core up to 3.8.

Probably the MOST important, unspoken thing here is, what model is your motherboard? I have a very high suspicion that you may be overclocking on a motherboard that is not physical capable of supporting a stable overclock based what kind of VRM package it has. It's also possible that you've cooked the VRMs and it's instantly flaking out now when overclocked. Might even be throttling itself when it's not overclocked, but I'd need to see some screenshots when not overclocked and under load, of the CPU clockspeeds to know that.
As for HWmonitor, I already said it sucks. HWinfo and CoreTemp are the two best choices. Even AMD Overdrive isn't as accurate as CoreTemp tuned to Distance to TJmax settings from my experiences using both.

Check it, unless you're actually playing inside a fridge — then your CPU won't be at room temperature during gaming. That's just not how it works. It doesn't matter if you use water cooling, air cooling, or anything else; the only way this makes sense is if you're using chilled cooling.

We've confirmed that the low-end AMD configurations are incorrect. These settings have never existed on any previous AMD chipset before. This isn't surprising.
