Can't push the AMD A10 7850k beyond 100mhz
My issue is that my APU becomes unstable even when changing from 3.7 to 3.8ghz. I have turbo off APM turned on, LLC medium with stock voltages. I didn’t adjust the voltage since it’s only a 100MHz boost. All C-states are off too. I didn’t overclock anything else except the RAM, which ran at its rated 2400MHz and stayed stable during 10 Loops of Memtest 86+.
My hardware includes: A10 7850k, Asrock A88X Extreme4, 430 watts for quiet operation, and Corsair Vengeance 2x8GB (2400MHz).
Hi,
What do you mean by "unstable"? Please ensure you have an aftermarket cooler before proceeding. Consider gradually raising the voltage, starting from 3.7Ghz to 3.8Ghz. If this doesn<|pad|>, continue incrementally but be cautious—after a few increases, you might run out of headroom for the CPU. Good luck!
