Hello, I've started experimenting with overclocking and followed numerous guides. My CPU runs smoothly at higher speeds, but my memory drops from the advertised 3000MHz to 1500MHz when I try to push it to 3000MHz. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

How did you increase the speed, just raised the clock? Or did you enable XMP?
XMP will handle all the adjustments for you.
I did both, here’s the video I saw: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FjIweExETlI
Ugh, Linus.
I’d lower your CPU settings a bit. Activate XMP. Save and reboot, then ensure the memory functions properly. Only after that should you attempt to manually boost the memory speed. XMP will take care of it instead.

Dylan Smit asks about the specifications. The setup includes Corsair Vengeance DDR4 3000MHz 8GB, Intel Core i5 6600k, ASUS Z170-P, Corsair Rm850x PSU, and GTX 970.

I increased the clock speed directly. XMP can also adjust the settings automatically.

How did you manage to overclock it, simply increased the clock speed? Or did you enable XMP?
XMP will handle all the configurations for you.
I did both, here is the video I viewed:

I’d lower your CPU settings and turn on XMP. Save or reboot first to ensure memory functions properly. Then proceed with the CPU overclock.
It seems XMP might be overriding a setting that was already affected by your changes.
Don’t spend time trying to manually boost the memory—XMP will take care of it.
At 6:20 in the video, when he switches the AI Overclock Tuner to XMP, should I select yes instead of no?
Just need to confirm.

Please ensure the XMP configuration is adjusted to DDR4-3000, which may display DDR4-2999 as an alternative.

Rogue Leader:
Correct, verify that the XMP configuration is adjusted to DDR4-3000; otherwise it might display DDR4-2999. I attempted this, but CPU-Z continues to report a 1500MHz DRAM frequency.
