Can't overclock enough
Can't overclock enough
Hello. I understand you're trying to increase the clock speed but can only do so slightly. My 800MHz DDR2 RAMs are currently at 667, while the FSB is 333, which restricts me to an OC of 340MHz. Once that limit is reached, the system won't boot up.
It's great for old-school FSB overclocking. Once you boost the FSB to a higher setting, the standard voltages aren't sufficient. Because it affects your whole system—PCIE bus, NB, SATA, RAM, and CPU—you should slightly lower the clocks and boost the voltage a bit more. This will allow you to push the FSB even higher. The reason it doesn't boot properly is because of the lack of enough voltage. A small boost in voltage, a minor clock reduction, followed by raising the FSB again, should work.

Ryan_78 explains the process of overclocking FSB and addresses voltage issues. They suggest adjusting clocks and voltage carefully to improve performance. They also ask about potential damage from overclocking.
Ryan_78 says it's not possible to really overclock, so you're limited. That's the best you can do.
