Can't overclock amd cpu
Hello everyone,
I was trying to overclock my A8 6600K to check if a new CPU was necessary. I accessed the BIOS (my motherboard is an MSI A78 E35) and attempted to use OC Genie, but it showed an error. When trying to manually adjust the multiplayer, voltage, and clock speed, everything turned grayed out and wasn't respondable.
Later, I tried Amd Overdrive and ran 3D Fire Strike, which gave me slightly worse performance than the stock settings. :/
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

SgtScream asks about using the computer, mentioning gaming and overclocking issues where parts of the BIOS are grayed out.
The motherboard appears unsuitable for overclocking. However, some users have employed the MSI Command Center method. Additionally, it's unclear what aftermarket CPU cooler is being used.
SgtScream is pointing out that the motherboard isn't suited for overclocking. They suggest checking the forum thread and the YouTube videos provided. They mention using an aftermarket CPU cooler from China, similar to a Hyper Eavea model, with two fans. They also note they can monitor CPU temperatures even when idle at 10 degrees by increasing the fan speed to 100%.
even when it doesn't allow overclocking, it still has an OC Genie feature.
