Hey guys, I've had this Autodesk desktop tool stop working right away. It's not a big deal because my work apps like Revit, AutoCAD, and 3D Max are still fine and running. But something feels weird. The old icon on the desktop is now just a blank paper sheet. When I try to open it, I get an error saying the file or folder is broken and can't be read. I've run both SFC and CHKDSK scans on my drive, but everything looks okay there. Even if I go through Windows settings to uninstall this app, the system says that a specific file called removeAdAppMgr.exe isn't found anymore. If I try to use the Control Panel instead, it tells me the app is no longer working and suggests I might already have removed it from my programs list. The actual files of the app still sit there on my hard drive, but without that specific uninstall file needed to delete them. Even though I downloaded the app again from the Autodesk website and installed it over the old version, nothing changed at all. I keep getting those same error messages when trying to open or remove the program. How can I safely get rid of this leftover piece of software from my computer so I can reinstall it? Thank you in advance

If I was talking about this, I should tell you to back up your computer first before trying anything else. A step-by-step guide on backing up and restoring the Windows Registry shows how to do that for these versions: Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1, and 10. If you want to fix a bad registry, just go to Fix r… neosmart.net

Have you tried this? Check out this link: [https://knowledge.autodesk.com/supp...fd...p-App.html]. If some steps are failing, move on to the next one. You might need a tool like Revo to wipe everything clean - here is another guide: [https://www.revouninstaller.com/].

I found that exact post back when I was searching, but I'm holding off on trying it right now because step 4 makes me nervous. Uninstalling things like that feels risky since it touches the Microsoft Registry and other app folders, and I worry it could ruin the actual software programs. I'll keep that as my final move for sure Thanks for sharing the Revo tip though, I'm checking it out in the mean time to see if it works
