Can't lower voltage below 10,400V
I aimed to lower my CPU voltage, as my cooler gets noisy and the heat from summer plus the room isn’t great. I installed Intel XTU but everything looks grayed out. How can I resolve this? Should I adjust BIOS settings? Are 10th generation CPUs restricted for undervolting? This i5-10400F ASRock B460M Pro4 RTX 2060 HyperX Fury RGB 2x8 3200 is it?
It seems you're looking for information about overclocking versus undervolting, specifically for an Intel CPU and Z motherboard. Would you like to know more about the differences between these techniques or how they affect performance?
I've handled similar issues on non-K CPUs without a Z motherboard before. Recent research suggests Intel has disabled this feature because of a security flaw (Plundervolt). You might be able to adjust voltages in the BIOS now. Edit: Thermal readings have slightly decreased, but HWinfo isn't reflecting any changes, so I'm unsure if it's actually being undervolted.
Pick any inexpensive $25 cooler, such as an Arctic freezer 33 or deeocool gammax 400, and your issue will disappear.
