Can't get to 3200 MHz
Can't get to 3200 MHz
Before you ask, yes, I made an XMP profile. My RAM is currently set to 3133 mhz. However, I cannot get it up to 3200 mhz because my motherboard supports up to 3466 mhz. I have a Corsair 16x2 gb ram that runs at 3200 mhz rgb edition. Here are my specs.
It says it can go up to 3200MHz, but that is never guaranteed. The difference between 3133 and 3200 MHz won't actually matter anyway. If you are worried about this, just send the item back within the return window for a fresh kit so I can be sure. Also, if it's not stable at 3200MHz, I'll run Prime95 for a few hours on 3133MHz to check that it works smoothly there instead.
Does the RAM AMD card work with your boards? Yes it is certified for compatibility. However, sometimes you might still need to manually change settings like timing and voltage inside BIOS. This can be a bit scary or confusing too, especially if you aren't sure what those numbers mean.
I had trouble with my Ryzen processor, motherboard, and RAM. I tried turning on the memory speed feature called XMP, but it only let me use 3533 instead of what I wanted. That small drop in speed isn't a big deal for most people. I checked the timing settings with a tool, but nothing worked then. After updating my BIOS to version F20a about two weeks ago, suddenly everything started working at full 3600 speed. Great job! Don't forget to update your BIOS too. Good luck.
My motherboard says it's a Ryzen 3000 model. I downloaded the newest BIOS update, but nothing changed. Maybe I should just format my PC instead.
