I can't give a direct answer on whether your CPU supports these specific voltages because I don't know exactly which processor you have or the exact model of the motherboard. However, if you are trying to run it at 4.7 GHz and getting a BSOD (Blue Screen of Death) when the voltage gets too high like 1.43V, then yes, your CPU probably cannot handle that much power for those frequencies.

Usually, if something is broken or unsupported on a motherboard, the solution isn't just finding new voltages; instead, you should try lowering your clock speed (GHz). Some CPUs and motherboards work better at lower speeds without crashing. You might also need to change other settings in your BIOS menu, like "CPU Ratio" (how much power the CPU gets) or "LLC" (a feature that limits voltage), even though you said you only changed those two things so far.

The board has a lot of phases so it shouldn't be the problem here.

Yeah, every computer chip works differently.

seems like my speed is capped at 4.6 gigs but I'll try again since it's an old machine.

oops, it's an MSI Z170A M7. Also getting a C and A error code when starting up. A little more info: the Corsair hx1000i psu, asus gtx 980x2 (don't think power is the issue).

I see a list of chip speeds and voltages, but I only care about the 68%. Even though my power supply is set lower than that, I still get good results at 4.6GHz.

I found some data from siliconlottery.com showing different voltages and percentages of overclocking hits for the AMD R9 4700K. The first line says I have a low voltage at 68% for 4.6GHz. I don't care about the power supply, but the motherboard has many phases so it should work fine.

Yeah, I believe I could get a 4.7 ghz signal on 1.45 volts. It's not worth it because there is a huge gap between the 1.32 volt and 4.6 ghz settings, plus the temperature goes up a lot when switching.

A little bit of gain won't help much.
