Hey everyone, I'm having trouble getting into my second Gmail. I had 2-step security set up, but when I see the code sent, nothing comes through. Everything else works fine: normal texts, Amazon checks, eBay stuff all work. But this time login from my PC or my phone gives me no codes. A friend with this problem for a month now too. Tried another way but it seems only my phone is connected to that account. Any chance?

Have you checked all your folders? Some emails move on their own to places like Spam or Trash, but the Inbox should always have everything.

Google's verification code usually comes to your phone through an SMS message, and I am talking about messages here.

You also mentioned trying to login from a computer... the point is an email address is just an email address, no matter what device you use like a desktop, laptop, tablet or phone, they all should get to access the same account, at least right up until the login screen, where you can try to create a new verification code and have it sent to your other email address.

The phone needs to be connected to your Google account to send the code. But I'm having trouble getting that code from Google, even though I get them from all my other apps.

Check exactly what that comment says about this topic. If they send "you" a verification code but you don't receive it, maybe someone else is getting it sent and your account could be in danger. Read all of it carefully and think about making a brand new email address right away while you can fix the current one. Account Recovery - Gmail Community

I checked my emails a few times. Every time I tried to get an account back, they asked for my phone number again. It's the same one I already have. But still, I can't get that verification code.

They keep asking for a phone number just in case... but it's not very helpful if hackers can get in and change the number with their own... It seems pretty clear that you probably have full control over your Gmail account and maybe even your phone right now. So you should change your phone number, make a new Gmail account, set up a strong password, and instead of giving them access to your old phone number, give them any other email addresses you can sign up with from places like Microsoft or Yahoo.

When it comes to getting your old Gmail account back, your best shot is if Gmail actually helps you recover it. But I don't think they're very interested in trying... Check their official support page... you might get a better chance there. Go to the Help Center at support.google.com where you can find tips and answers for questions about using Gmail.

Thanks for your advice, but nobody actually hacked my account. I just checked one last time on my phone; that is my only recovery option and it still shows as mine registered. For some reason, I am not getting Google's verification code. Even if I wanted to change the password, it asks for two step verification. By the way, current password works fine but it keeps asking for the code every time I log in, so I can't get into my account.
