Okay everyone, I'm using Windows 11 right now. When I first updated things, the microphone worked great. But a few days later, after turning my computer to sleep and coming back on, the mic stopped working completely. I have this Tronsmart Glary Gaming Headset connected via USB. The system says it sees a mic plugged in, but when I try to use apps like Discord or Telegram, no sound comes out at all.

I tried a few fixes that didn't work. First, I took the headphones out and put them back in, then restarted my computer. Next time around, I went to Device Manager and tried uninstalling and reinstalling the mic driver again. Then I checked if there were other drivers for the sound, but they are already up-to-date.

I also unplugged and replugged my headset multiple times, but nothing changed. Even trying a Line-In port on the back of my PC didn't help; it still won't show up in Windows settings or apps. That makes me think maybe my headphones are interfering with each other, even though I haven't had that problem before. I took them out and tried again, but now no sound is detected at all either.

It used to work for less than 12 hours ago, so something just changed suddenly and I don't know what it is.

Did you report this bug to Microsoft through their feedback section? You're probably on a Win 11 preview, so the drivers aren't installed yet. That's okay using alpha software because things change quickly and it works better than expected sometimes. I might move this thread back to the Win 11 area since we want to keep all questions about that version in one spot.

It's not about Windows 11 at all because it worked fine when I first installed it. When I looked at the update history, there were no changes. So, nothing was broken with Windows 11. I checked the Line-in connection again and realized I had plugged it in to the wrong slot, so I moved it to the right one. Now everything works great. But the microphone on my headset isn't working even though I'm using the Line-in. Still waiting to hear a fix for the headset mic since I only hear static sounds from it all day.
