can't exceed 3200mhz memory without issues
I have a new RAM setup and I’m limited to 3200MHz without any bottlenecks or strange behavior. The CPU is an R5 5600X, and it should work fine with this configuration. My current RAM supports 3600MHz but fails when using the XMP profile; 3200MHz seems to be the sweet spot. I’m unsure if the issue is hardware-related or just a BIOS quirk, since the manufacturer doesn’t mention problems above that speed on their site. I recently updated the BIOS and it’s been stable for over an hour now.
It's typical for a low-end B450 board to offer solid performance at an affordable price.
Check the support documentation thoroughly. On the mainboard memory section, you’ll find notes about XMP and memory speeds. Be aware that some manufacturers may indicate compatibility issues, which often suggests the feature won’t function properly in practice.
I just refreshed the bios and started Windows with 3600mhz working. I’ll have to wait and check if it works again. If it doesn’t, I’ll edit the post. Otherwise, everything seems okay. There was still some instability, but it looked fine for a while. Sorry I missed this one.
