Cant clock my Amd 8370
Hello, I have an AMD FX 8370 and an ASRock 990fx with overclocking water cooling. After buying the PC, I couldn’t install it via BIOS. I tried using AMD Overdrive Turbo Cores, setting 6 cores to 4.3 GHz, which is 21.5x that speed, but that’s all I can do. Why is my BIOS rejecting every change I make?
Can I execute prime95 and small FFT for two hours straight without any issues?
A month back I encountered an issue with Windows, it would crash during every game after just a minute of use. I performed a HC stress test on the components, it ran for about 30 hours without any problems...
I downloaded it 30 minutes ago and started it, and it's now running normally.
Have you checked the manuals or viewed some YouTube videos to verify your configurations? It seems there are certain settings you must turn off for your overclocking to work optimally, ideally reaching at least 4.6ghz before any further gains become limited.
AOD is a software product that can be affected by inconsistencies in the operating system and hardware, making it prone to issues. It's best to always start from the BIOS. The safest and most dependable method is to slowly raise the multiplier and voltage, test repeatedly with higher values until you hit certain boundaries beyond which performance drops significantly. Only you can determine how far you can push it.
"I've seen and experienced the FX 8350 reaching up to 5GHz, while another model consistently achieved around 4.6GHz regardless of adjustments."
It might also be possible to boost performance by fine-tuning FSB/BCLK and Northbridge configurations, but these improvements are limited and require extensive experimentation.
