After purchasing the game, I only have 6 hours left. That’s why I can’t play online (the online version is still available). Most of those hours are spent in the Story Mode. I’ll describe what happens if I try to play again.

For tabbing out, you might simply choose a Borderless windowed setting or switch to Windowed mode; however, you'll need tools like borderless gaming to reach fullscreen.
Regarding loading times, I’m not entirely sure, but it seems Online might load more slowly since the game also needs to download the world.
When loading from Story mode, the world is likely already ready.
Ps.: GTA Online tends to be quite toxic in my experience. I usually just played races.

Sure, with the right people it's really enjoyable, but using randomness could turn it into a bad time.
