This might sound like a simple question, but I was curious about whether I should opt for the 4670k, the 4670, or the best i5 Haswell available if you have more expertise. I’m looking at a GIGABYTE G1 Gaming GA-Z97X-Gaming 7 motherboard and wanted to know if stable overclocking is feasible with these parts. Thanks for your advice.

Benmccardle suggested using a 4690K for better results. It should function well with Z97 chips, right? Yes, it requires an unlocked "K" SKU CPU and a Z series chipset motherboard for overclocking.

Get a 4690K instead. You'll get a great OC.
