It wouldn't make sense to just open the top port and fill it there. Or are you connecting a fitting to that port to finish the loop? I'm wondering if your radiator has an open port that could be used to directly fill the reservoir below. If that's right, then yes.

Why not simply open the top port on the reservoir and fill it there? Or are you using that top port with a fitting to complete your loop? I'm guessing your radiator (on top) has an open port that would then directly fill the reservoir below. If that's correct, yes. Here are the loop pictures. See it for yourself. But I was wondering, is that top inlet port really necessary for a reservoir, or could three at the bottom work just as well? Also, I just checked—your top radiator is a multi-port U flow design, low restriction radiator...

You may select any port on a reservoir, provided the inlet and outlet flows are properly adjusted for the pump.

The pump at the outlet would channel water through your loop. The pump at the inlet would link to the reservoir's outlet.

The pump 'outlet' would send water through your loop. The pump 'inlet' would be linked to the reservoir 'outlet'. Yes, I understand, but on this reservoir at the bottom, the ports aren't labeled as inlet or outlet... so I was wondering if using one pump outlet for the loop and another for the reservoir makes sense.

Reservoirs don't have fixed inlet or outlet points. Any port can serve as either, technically. If your pump's top has multiple ports, you usually connect one from each side—it depends on the setup and orientation you require.

No, I'm still not clear on what you're asking.

If your pump's top has multiple ports, you usually connect one from each side—this depends on how you want to position the pump.
I was wondering if, when fluid exits the reservoir to the D5 top, there should be a dedicated return inlet port for that reservoir?
Also, if I don't use the top radiator as a fillport but just a reservoir, what would that mean?

Loop is complete! Thanks for your assistance! A lot appreciated.
Check the final version, it's working:

If your pump top (the aftermarket head) has multiple inlet/outlet ports, you usually connect one from each... they exist for different configurations depending on how you want to position your pump.

How is the operation proceeding? Which temperature readings are you seeing? You did an excellent job with the tubing and the overall color—great work!
