You're considering a switch from your 3770 to an i5-10400F and need guidance on RAM options. You're weighing between the Gigabyte H410M and the MSI H410M-A PRO boards. For memory choices, pairing with either of those options works well. You're thinking about using two 8GB modules—either G.Skill Aegis or HyperX Fury. The 10400F supports XMP overclocking, so you could potentially push it to around 2666MHz if the RAM meets the requirements. However, the H410 motherboard might limit performance depending on the specific model. Cas latency is generally less of a concern with Intel CPUs, though it can still affect stability. Regarding prices, the H410M is more affordable right now compared to the R5-3600, which has seen steep price increases in Europe. The 10400F offers solid performance without needing DDR5 or an Alder Lake architecture. It should be a good balance of cost and capability. Let me know if you need more details!

Yes, but it will remain fixed at 2666mhz using XMP settings. The delay in this configuration won’t be significant. I’d choose the most affordable RAM that meets the minimum requirement.

I'm all set with GSKill, the cost difference is similar. Appreciate it!
