Steam has become quite smart lately, and if you provide it with information about where certain steam files came from in an old installation, it will simply accept and proceed without any issues. I recall the past when I had to manually connect drives across systems to expand my Steam library, and then later needed a different program for that task—though I don’t remember the exact name. Steam in 2006 was a completely different experience compared to today.
