Can you swap the Windows installation HDD at the same time as the drive?
Can I temporarily swap out the Windows 11 drive, install a new version, test it briefly, and then revert to the old drive? This should be a short-term solution and I won’t enable the "interim" setup. After switching back, do I need to reactivate the original installation? It uses Secure Boot.
You have the option to exchange two Windows 11 boot drives located on the same computer. When both are installed together, they can function as a dual-boot setup, allowing you to choose which drive to use upon startup if required. You can also insert and remove them as desired. Issues might arise with the boot drives if other hardware components such as the motherboard, CPU, or graphics card are altered, potentially causing driver conflicts. Otherwise, swapping should work without major problems.
Hi KingLoki,
Thanks for your reply. I was unsure about the Secure Boot and will likely skip it with the temporary fix.
I'll try it out.
