An OS reinstall should be straightforward.
Make sure it's running and enabled first.
Drivers...check the Dell website.
Reinstallations occur frequently. It's not unusual for someone else to encounter this with a new device.

There is a slight possibility of internet connectivity problems after the clean install. I haven't experienced this before, but it has happened. If you can't connect to the net, you're facing a significant issue. The NIC driver is likely the most critical component following a clean install, as it might be necessary for resolving problems. However, if there are other issues, it doesn't necessarily mean the installation will fail immediately. Since you have another PC with internet access available, you can proceed however you wish.

Usually individuals opt for the simple option provided by the maker, such as the factory reset feature. I understand that some people reinstall software, but I'm curious if the device was actually more "optimised" for factory settings rather than a regular OEM version. It's similar to using factory Android on a Galaxy S10 or installing STOCK ANDROID, which is generally thought to perform much better.

restarting the factory just restores the initial Dell features. A clean installation works well if you have all the necessary drivers from Dell.

Yes, consider removing the factory partitions if you don’t need them. Since it’s been a while since you installed an OS, think about adjusting the boot order so the USB media tool starts first. You might also want to check the BIOS settings to set it once instead of repeatedly. For booting from the USB drive, look up the specific instructions for your DELL model.

Ensure the USB is listed first in the boot sequence, or halt the startup and select it for booting.

You will encounter an option at the start of the clean setup to remove every partition from the storage device.
Confirm your decision. This is what a fresh installation entails. Set it up on a blank, unused disk.
You may need to activate a boot menu and select your USB installer as the starting point.

It looks like I'm missing the right USB drive, so I ended up placing an order for three that should arrive by Friday... I'll keep working on this task starting Friday.

I might also use the Dell support assist app
It will automatically install all drivers for your model
You can remove this annoying factory app later, if needed
