I'm not aiming to overclock this setup because it's just a backup system. I checked the parts and the H270 chipset confirms it doesn't allow overclocking, but I wanted to confirm if a K series 7600k would still work on the board.

Yes, you can. Although without overclocking the i5-7600K plus CPU Cooler is a huge price increase over the i5-7500 with a small speed increase. For just $10 more you can get a Z270 ITX board with 802.11AC. Just in case you change your mind about overclocking in the future. Although you lose USB 3.1.

You can definitely install it. The only issue is that you can't overclock that K chip with that board. All other features stay the same.

Yes, it's possible. Even without boosting the i5-7600K plus CPU Cooler, the price jumps significantly compared to the i5-7500 with a modest speed boost. For only an additional $10, you can purchase a Z270 ITX board supporting 802.11AC, just in case you decide to overclock later. This option also means you'll miss out on USB 3.1 ports.

I recommend the i7-7700 + B250 board. It offers better performance at a similar cost. Alternatively, if you have a larger budget, we can tailor the build to achieve optimal results.

You can install it, but you won't be able to overclock the K chip with that board. The rest of the features will stay the same. Thanks a lot.
