It's not a simple yes or no situation. The goal is mainly to hit 1080p at 60 frames per second. The graphics options, however, range from medium-high to very high. It's disappointing that they don<|pad|>, so clearly stating the details would help. It’s puzzling why they haven’t specified the exact settings. Just noticed the resolution the op is targeting, and I agree he can push it to the limit. Still, the question remains why Rockstar hasn’t shared what configurations allowed that performance with that card.
Question the 660's ability to hit 60 fps at 1080p. I owned that card before switching to the 970. Way off from Far 4 high at my setup with the same i5, only 30 fps. It's an old card.
I don't have certainty until I witness it; only time will clarify. Still, when exactly will it be released? It seems to have lingered since the initial postponement.
Well Steam says it's set for 2 days and 6 hours. Sounds like a good window for everyone, right? In the UK it's at midnight on the 14th. The US will catch it around midday on the 13th, which isn't earlier than the UK. I'm really eager to jump in. Before my PC arrived, I owned a PS3 that stopped working just before GTA launched... then I bought a PS4 and sold it in June to upgrade my setup... again, right before GTA came out, haha.
Issues detected. Performance is 45-60fps at 2560x1440 with VSync enabled, except for shadows which struggle even at high settings. On GTA IV, Nvidia seems to perform better in my experience, suggesting something may be amiss. VSync off improves frame rate to around 70 but causes screen tearing. I've attached a benchmark from a previous session.
It looks like there might be an issue elsewhere in your setup. Are you running an AMD processor? A single 970 chip typically handles most games at 1080p, though it's often built for 1440p. The title didn’t mention the 4690k, which seems odd given your low FPS.

Avoid that setting—it doesn’t significantly improve the visuals. Aim for around 60 fps. Still, at 100 it drops to roughly 35 fps, averaging 45-50 fps, though you're using 1440p. Have you found another system to test your graphics card? Just curious, where did you acquire your 970?
