I'm just starting out with PC gaming and am curious about overclocking my GTX 1050 ti from Zotac. I was wondering if not having a PCI-E connection would cause any issues.

The card has safeguards in place making it nearly unfeasible to cause harm. Employ MSI Afterburner for overclocking—it is the recommended tool for this purpose.

The card already consumes 75W, and the PCIe slot matches that capacity. There isn't a lot of extra power left. The GPU could be safeguarded, but the memory might not be. I have the same card, and I've pushed it to overclock. The variation is noticeable but not huge.
