So my previous discussion won’t let me pick the best option, but I’ve chosen AS5 thermal paste and added some extra RAM to the laptop.
The issue is this: I have an ASUS TUF Dash F15 FX516PR with 16GB of RAM, half of which is soldered onto the motherboard. I was considering RAM upgrades and thought I was restricted to one 16GB stick because 8GB is already on the MOBO, but Crucial’s site says a 32GB stick is compatible.
I’m confused because if there’s already 8GB installed, adding another 32GB would exceed the system limit of 32GB. Does that really work?

I think it could be effective, as many laptops offer 40GB RAM with 8GB already installed.
However, there might be a trade-off in RAM speed relative to the setup.
Does it count?

The recommended specifications align perfectly with the soldered RAM.

It's the sole 32GB RAM unit matching those specifications that I've located. I also chose Arctic MX4 paste.

I discovered a G.Skillz Ripjaw deal around $35 less.
EDIT: It seems I won’t need the MX4 anymore. The ASUS Armory Crate TURBO setting was actually causing my CPU temperature issues. I didn’t realize it increased clock speeds beyond fan control, so I’ll focus on upgrading the RAM instead.
EDIT #2: Checking RAM usage in my most demanding games confirms the upgrade would be beneficial. Currently I have only about 1.7-1.8 GB available for gaming, which is limited. This includes background tasks like MSI Afterburner, HWINFO64, Armory Crate, and sometimes Windows Media Player.
