I believe I have two X5650s installed, as I'm just beginning to unpack it. It's a solid machine. I'm about to turn it on and set it up.

I own two x5620s but there are many discussions. The single-core performance is pretty poor. Overclocking probably won't work on the original board.

The 5620 works well with many threads, but for gaming or other single-thread tasks you'll need a higher-end chip like the x5650, x5670, or x5680.
