There was no specific documentation provided, though. The situation is similar to the silver lining I was reading about. Usually, I doubt high voltage was the sole issue with these CPUs, but it’s possible. Intel claims they resolved a two-year microcode problem and released it on August 9th. That seems to be the case, doesn’t it?

However, Wukong developers mention that some players are facing crashes with 13th and 14th generation CPUs. I think these reports should be taken with caution, since they don’t necessarily mean every Intel CPU is faulty. It just suggests a higher chance of faults in Intel chips. I’d rather not risk buying either good or bad products. I need confidence that whatever I purchase will work and run properly. It’s convenient to have Ryzen available now.

I delayed my decision, made some changes to the post, but editing was blocked. Now I’m leaning toward Ryzen. I’m considering upgrading to a higher-end model to meet my multithreading needs while still getting solid gaming performance.

Hope this helps and you skip 7800x3d.

But are all X3D chips problematic in batch processing? What if I go for 9900 or 9990...?

Also, think about air coolers – something worth considering. Thanks.

Thanks for the links. I reviewed them and found myself distracted by the feed yesterday. Those points were good. It’s also worth noting that the microcode patch didn’t seem to offer a complete solution. Together with several warnings against Intel CPUs and a solid night’s sleep, this made me think about considering Ryzen processors.

I’m evaluating the Ryzen 9 7900 (or 7950) and the 9900 now. I’m looking for an overpowered option to boost multithreading batch performance.

I’ve started reading articles about them and they seem promising so far.

Could you share your thoughts on Zen 5 and the Series 9000 specifically?
(I’m very sorry for the mess with my original post. I was editing it yesterday because I wanted to write and refine it, but got stuck. I can’t edit it yet. I hope I’ll find a fix soon, as this thread will be paused for a while. I’m not rushing to close it.)

I think the Baltic nations are the nearest options – Estonia and Lithuania. Poland and Germany are also quite close. I’m not sure about Finland; would it be worth exploring that area? I plan to purchase locally since I already have a good stock and acceptable prices.

For the AIO on the 7800x3d, I need an overkill Ryzen CPU that could handle heavy multithreading tasks, especially with large Excel files. This might be too much for the 4080S, but it would provide the necessary performance. I believe this choice will definitely affect my cooling strategy.

Here is the website link for further assistance:
the 7800X3D works well with air cooling, and the temperatures and power usage are within acceptable ranges.
The Ryzen 9000 series performs better with a cooler, making the Thermalright Phantom Spirit EVO an excellent option.

I'm not certain if you're referring to the build, so here it is -
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/b7syvj
(removed cpu since it's in discussion).
If you're thinking about shops where you expect to purchase, here are some options:
http://bm.market/en/computers
and a larger one
https://www.dateks.lv/en
(I can't provide a direct link to the components page for this site, but it's on the main page)
But I found more market-oriented sites where I usually compare deals to get the best price (I can save 50-100€ per part with this approach).
For the 7800x3d, it's okay. But I've already checked the 7800x3d before and concluded it's not sufficient for my work tasks. This decision was made well before I decided to lower my internal buy-integrity voice and start looking at Ryzen.
For cooling in the 9000 series, thanks for the suggestions. I'll explore Thermalright. Since you recommend this instead of sticking with Kraken, should I also look into another case? Any advice on a case with good airflow?
Also, do you have any thoughts on the Ryzen 9 7900 series? I think x3d is an option too, but I could also consider 50x or 50x3d. They're expensive, but I need at least 12 cores.

Hey, thanks for spending time to create this build with the links. I appreciate it.
So, let me go one by one to share my thoughts about your changes:
7900x3d is a No for me, sorry. I went through some benchmarks and I can clearly see how it falls off in productivity applications. It is confidently gaming-heavy, but not all-round solution.
However, 7900x looks like a decent replacement minus slight gaming performance.
Or should I look up to 7950x non 3d?
9900x perhaps?
air cooler - okay. any direct reason to go with thermalright? I would mind bequiet or Noctua if I go air cooling over aio.
mobo - I hear you, but as my personal preference, I would like to get z series boards instead of b650. I know b650 is recommended a lot, seen it, but I would like to pay extra for z series.
I didn't find any compatibility issues here aside from person desire to spend more?
z790 is not compatible with am5, right...?
ram - I saw that non 3d ryzens are sensitive to ram, so is this particular choice the one that fits the best? 6400 cl32 is fine by me, but I also don't mind return to g.skill even if I end up spending more
ssd(s) - okay, thanks!
video card - yep
psu - okay, so this psu is also on tier-a on cultist list. no problems. But is there direct reason to switch from one tier-a recommendation to another? I guess its all about price?
case+fans - okay, so an affordable case and 2 fans. pretty okay. what do you think about case with implemented airflow and some fans? again, next seem to feature that.
Thanks for pointers!
well, I think I understand that many choices are based on price difference and personal preferences. Are there any specifics parts from your list which you strongly recommended together with Ryzen 9?

In short, my preferences led me to make a few key changes after a last-minute switch from Intel to AMD. The main adjustments included moving to an AMD setup and updating components like RAM and storage. I’m still deciding on the exact RAM type and storage drive, but overall it’s shaping up as a solid configuration.

7900X3D is what you asked for, 12 core CPU as originally posted (pre-edited). You might also consider the 7950X3D, but verify with your software to ensure it supports all 16 cores. The Thermalright Phantom Spirit EVO stands out among aircoolers. It features ARGB lighting and is affordable. Instead of RGB AIO, I opted for ARGB case fans, ARGB CPU coolers, and a digital display on the front of the case—a budget-friendly way to highlight your parts. Using an air cooler requires low-profile RAM sticks, so inexpensive and efficient RAM options like the one mentioned earlier are suitable. Mobo: 14 phase VRMs, Wi-Fi 6E, PCIe 5.0 M.2, plus good USB, fan, and ARGB headers. Do you require the extra X16 PCIe 5.0 slot and multiple PCIe 5.0 M.2 ports? Z790 is Intel-based. B650 is unlocked in AMD. RAM: G.Skill isn’t crucial. What matters most are the IC chips inside the RAM die. SK Hynix A-die or Samsung M-die chips offer the best performance. Recent AMD AEGA bios updates have improved compatibility. The recommended RAM sticks can run at 6400/32 with XMP profiles. PSU: Besides the tier A model, it must also comply with ATX 3.0 standards. For more guidance, check this list: Best PSU Picks 2025 - Hardware Busters Hardware Busters - Best PSU Picks 2025 - Top Picks hwbusters.com Case and fans: Choose FDB or ARGB fans with solid CFM and noise ratings. A compact case with a good front display and advanced screen is ideal—better than the NZXT Kraken Elite.
