I had a situation where my old Intel i5 motherboard failed, so I switched to an AMD FX 6350 because I often run virtual machines and the 8-core option would help. I also purchased the ASRock 970M Pro3 to reuse my existing Corsair DDR3 Red Vengeance RAM sticks.

From what I read, the stock cooler on the AMD model is quite loud, which surprised me. I might have preferred sticking with another Intel i5 since they tend to be more expensive but the fans weren’t that noisy.

I’m now thinking about a Cool Master Hyper 212 EVO:

But I’m concerned it might not fit, especially after seeing some size restrictions.

Here’s the motherboard and the Corsair RAM I have:

Uncertain, but you might try a quick Google search. I noticed the RAM seems barely cleared. My 212 EVO handles it fine. It appears to be a mini-ATX model from the image. I recall hearing about another cooler, Cryorig, which are usually low-profile and could be beneficial.
