Can you clarify what you mean by "ram"? Are you referring to RAM in computing, or something else?
I own an older machine that works just fine. I’m considering adding more RAM—specifically another 16 GB—to bring the total up to 32 GB. It’s running G.Skill Trident 3000 MHz, and the CPU-Z shows only the F4-3000C15-8GTZR kit available online. Is the 16 DIMM just a label for a 16 GB module, or is that referring to a different configuration? I’m having trouble finding anything matching the F4-3000C15-8GTZR and don’t want to spend money on the wrong part. Thanks for your assistance.
It's unlikely you'll achieve XMP 3000MHz speeds with just an extra 16GB of RAM. You're better off choosing redundancy (more memory) or higher performance (higher frequency). While some users succeed with four drives, 3000MHz is a unique frequency. Typically, 2933MHz and 3200MHz are common DDR4 speeds. If adding more doesn't work, keep XMP enabled but try a lower frequency to see if it functions. Good luck!
