Hi, I recently assembled a compact PC for LAN gatherings using leftover components. It features the case and motherboard from an Acer Aspire M5640. I’m curious if it’s possible to push the performance of the Core 2 Quad Q8200 on the Intel board included with the system. Please let me know.

If the mobo isn't cable, the software won't work.

Usually they come with a locked BIOS, which is unfortunate. To change it you need to be able to adjust the FSB, but prebuilts don't support that, sorry.

Are there any third-party applications claiming to enable overclocking through Windows?
