I own a Gigabyte GTX 1660Ti (Factory OC) and I'm interested in pushing its performance further. I've seen many YouTube videos showing overclocking with +150Mhz core clock and +1000Mhz memory clock, but I want to try higher settings like +250Mhz or even +300Mhz so the core clock reaches 2200Mhz. I already have an aggressive custom fan curve, but will it cause overheating?

The Gpu Boost algorithm is the biggest challenge here. It controls the GPU core clock freely and can adjust its speed based on temperature and power limits applied. Higher clock speeds require more voltage, which in turn demands more power and generates more heat.
What are the chances the core maintains 2200mhz under heavy loads? If it fails to do so in various situations, then the stability claim is questionable, right?
Tools like Gpu-Z, hwinfo, afterburner let you track temperature and other metrics to understand its behavior.

Yes, you can manually adjust your GPU settings. Whether it's worth doing depends on the situation. Generally, increasing core clocks by about 100mhz usually leads to a temperature change of roughly 2-5 degrees. If your GPU is stock and currently running around 65°C, an overclock could push it up to 65-70°C. That’s not a big improvement. However, pushing it further increases the amount of heat that needs to be removed. The extent also depends on the specific GPU model and its capabilities.
It’s important to test incrementally, checking for any unwanted artifacts. Using tools like Overclock Scanner with MSI Afterburner can help establish a baseline.
Reducing CPU voltage through undervolting can also offer similar benefits by allowing the GPU to run hotter and more efficiently.
