Hello everyone.
My friend is about to start studying mechanical engineering, and he asked for my help in finding a suitable and affordable laptop.
Within the price range he mentioned, I found the Lenovo IdeaPad 3, i3-1005G1 (or 10110u), Nvidia mx130, 8GB DDR4 RAM, 1TB HDD, and a 1366*768 15.6" display.
Is this device appropriate for his needs?
And if not, what are the essential requirements for such a purpose?
I understand SSDs can significantly boost performance in rendering tasks, but we might upgrade later.

Immediately I would say no. This system will run slowly right away, even without mechanical engineering software installed. You should be able to obtain a list of the required programs from the school before the lesson starts. Check each program’s suggested specifications or needs.

Probably not.
Engine design likely uses advanced CAD tools.
Current specs like i3 and 8GB RAM aren't sufficient.
