Can this handle running Fallout 4?
I'm thinking about upgrading to an RX 480 with 8GB RAM in the near future. I want to enjoy Fallout 4 at medium to high settings in 1080p or 720p. Since I don't have funds for a new CPU, I need to be realistic about what my current build can handle. The system already has a GPU and other components, but I should keep that in mind when planning the upgrade.
I'm experiencing issues maintaining a stable 60 FPS on my setup. It seems the distance between the display and the GPU might be straining the CPU, especially with the FX-8350 handling the graphics. Since you've been adjusting settings recently, it's possible the changes aren't optimizing performance enough.
It doesn't appear Fallout includes crossfire mechanics, so it typically relies on a single card.
I rely on AMD's Fallout 4 Crossfire setting in Crimson. When I run the game, both cards increase their speed to 1050MHz and maintain comparable GPU demands. Unless another factor is at play, Fallout 4 indeed accommodates Crossfire.
