Can the EK D5 reservoir combo be accommodated in the Corsair 400C?
Can the EK D5 reservoir combo be accommodated in the Corsair 400C?
Sorry for the long update, here’s what I have so far.
The current setup includes an Asus Maximus IX Hero with an i7 7700k processor.
RAM is GSkill 32GB DDR4 at 3000Mhz.
Graphics are Asus Strix GTX1080 A8G.
Storage consists of a Samsung 850EVO SSD (1TB) and a Toshiba HDD (4TB).
Cooler is a Noctua U12S.
Additional parts are a 120mm fan with four units, one at the back and three at the front.
The case used is Corsair Carbide 400C.
I’m planning to upgrade to a custom loop in the future. I’ve looked into tutorials for beginners and parts.
My goal is to install a loop for both the CPU and my 1080, aiming for each component to have at least a 120mm radius (possibly more for overclocking).
Since I don’t like overclocking much, a 240mm radius seems fine for me, and my case supports that.
For the reservoir, I’m considering the EK-XRES 140 Revo D5 combo, which can be installed on a case fan using the EK-UNI Pump Bracket.
I’m wondering if this will fit properly without touching the graphics card.
Also, would it be possible to mount the bracket directly on the front of the chassis without the fan?
I’d prefer to keep the current case and not remove the hard drive cage, as I’ve seen people drilling holes into their cases for pump installations.
Yes
it'll fit but you'll have to move the res/pump combo because it won't match the GPU's length.
Can the EK Pump fan bracket be attached directly to the chassis?
(If using the rear fan slot, or a front position if available.)
From the manual, it seems I'll need some long screws (like those included with the radiator).
I'm not sure if these are the same as the case fan screws.
