I need a scanner and someone is offering a Canon Pixma pro-100 for parts since the printer head is either missing or broken. Would it still function properly if the printer head wasn't there? Thanks a lot.

I once owned a Canon Pixma (exact model uncertain), but the scanner failed when the printer ran out of ink, suggesting it wouldn't function without the print head. The Canon drivers package these tasks together.
