Can someone tell me how I did?
I recently completed my initial overclock as someone deeply passionate about PCs and their details. I upgraded my 5820k by learning about voltages and clock speeds, and here are my results. I kept the process simple since this was my first attempt!
MSI x99a SLI Plus Motherboard
16 Gb Adata RAM @ 2133 MHz
i7-5820k OC to 4.0 GHz @ 1.2v
Corsair H100i V2 AIO
Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 Superclocked (EVGA)
1Tb WD HDD
500Gb Samsung Evo SSD
Kingston 250 Gb SSD
EVGA 600w PSU
Idle temp: 34°C
Real Temp Sensor Test (Prime95): max temp: 82°C
ROG RealBench: max temp: 65°C
Cinebench score: 1184

SpencerGoshorn suggests checking the stock clock, benchmarking post-overclock, and evaluating whether the gains are worth it. He mentions stability as a key factor, noting he remains steady after about four hours of stress tests.
SpencerGoshorn suggested checking the stock clock benchmark and doing it after overclocking, then evaluating if the improvement is worth it. He mentioned stability was important and shared that he stayed stable for about four hours during stress tests. ImSavageOne responded with a similar message, emphasizing the need to assess stability before considering any changes. No problem.
I'd like to see if I can achieve 4.2/4.3 without needing much more vcore. These chips usually don't have problems below 4.4. After some adjustments, I'm satisfied with the outcome because this is my first original change and I wanted to build some confidence since I was self-taught. Still, I'll remember this if I ever want to go further!
