Can someone help me to oc?
Can someone help me to oc?
Hello huys! i have a problem here with my overclock.
I have a "Phenom II X4 945 3.0" and a "Asus m4n68t-m le v2". I am getting a little bottlenecked so i wanted to oc the cpu.
Here's what i did: Raised FSB to to 240 multiplier still was on 15, raised voltage to 1.45000 and lowered the memory clock from 800 to 667 (Kingston HyperX 1600)
Then i ran prime95 for 15 minutes i was rocking stable, but i don't really get any fps incrase, nothing, it even shows in some programs that it's not even oc-ed, CPU-z says that it's oc...
Ran FurMark for a test 1920x1080 AA-off 64fps Just as before... Core unlocker is still off since i don't think i need it.. Am i missing something? Any tips solutions? Please guys...
Thanks in advance.
Hello huys! I'm facing an issue with my overclock. I have a "Phenom II X4 945 3.0" and an "Asus m4n68t-m le v2". I'm experiencing some bottlenecks, so I decided to lower the CPU frequency. I changed the FSB to 240x, increased the voltage to 1.45000, and reduced the memory clock from 800 to 667 (using a Kingston HyperX 1600). After that, I ran Prime95 for 15 minutes and everything was stable, but I didn't see any FPS improvement. Some programs even indicated it wasn't overclocked. CPU-Z says it's still unlocked, so maybe I'm missing something? Any advice or solutions would be appreciated. Thanks!
Phenom II? Marty, what year are we in?
Boosting the CPU clock won’t significantly boost FPS unless you’re playing a CPU-intensive game. I’m not sure about these 'programs' that don’t display an overclock; even Task Manager should reflect the actual speed. It’s likely the CPU isn’t being used to its full potential, possibly due to power management settings. The term 'bottleneck' is a bit vague—if you’re experiencing slow performance or in-game stuttering, check background processes first. After backing up your drives and reinstalling Windows, try resetting BIOS settings and toggling important options. Also, keep an eye on temperatures!

Boosting the CPU clock won’t significantly improve FPS unless you’re playing a CPU-intensive game. I’m unsure why certain programs don’t show an overclock, even if Task Manager displays the right speed. It might be that the CPU isn’t being used fully, running at lower speeds due to power management. The term 'bottleneck' is a bit vague—if you’re experiencing slow performance or in-game stuttering, check background processes first. If possible, clear your drives after backing them up and reinstall Windows. If you’re confident the issue isn’t with your system, verify BIOS settings and toggle important options as needed. Also, keep an eye on temperatures!
How do I use it then? Because the settings above aren’t working for me... I set it to 3.2Ghz and achieved a 5 fps boost in games and FurMark, so yes, I’m quite limited, but I want to push it up to 3.6 as well. Computer Pro... And all the advice you’re giving is already addressed—just need to adjust the CPU clock...
