Hi đź‘‹
Hey everyone...
I own an ASUS ROG Strix G17 pretty well.
It has an AMD R7 6800H, 16GB DDR5 RAM, and an RTX 3050 GPU.
It’s a nice laptop overall, but my dad doesn’t want it to get damaged.
He wants to know if playing games makes it better.
I’m not sure how to respond...
Can someone help me out?

It's better for you to have fun playing games than not. I'd like to think by now you understand how to use the internet safely, reducing the risk of viruses or malware from unreliable sites. Games aren't naturally unsafe; it's when people modify them in ways that lead to trouble.

The advantage for the hardware is minimal. It’s likely the opposite—games put a lot of strain on parts, which can shorten their life. As long as it’s a gaming laptop meant for its purpose, you’re fine. I recommend keeping an eye on CPU and GPU temperatures during use. It’s normal for laptops to overheat and throttle. My Dell G5 with i7 9750h and 2060 improved by adjusting the CPU voltage and adding thicker rubber feet to enhance cooling. This helped lower CPU temperatures and prevented thermal throttling, leading to better performance.

the advantage of the games lies in your enjoyment, since you'll appreciate playing. no advantage for the laptop
