Can my RAM manage a voltage of 1.35V?
I've been exploring RAM overclocking lately. I usually stick with 2400MHz, but after switching to Ryzen, I learned faster RAM works better. Right now I'm mixing different types—my setup includes a 8x1 Crucial Ballistix Sport LT at 2400MHz Micron B die and an 8x2 Patriot Premium Signature at 2400MHz Spectek (owned by Micron). The only adjustment I've made is boosting the stock 1.2V to 2666MHz. I'm curious if pushing it to 1.35V is safe, without risking damage. Also, can I aim for around 3000MHz at that voltage? Any advice would be great!
Increase it gradually in tiny steps rather than adding another 12% voltage at once. This way you can be sure you're working within safe limits, and you might achieve 3000 MHz with a lower voltage.
DDR4 seems to function properly at about 1.45 volts. I adjusted the voltage to 1.4 to make the 3200 MHz clock run correctly.
I didn’t bother with the jokes, thanks for the answers. I looked at my bios and saw my motherboard was running the 2400mhz RAM at 1.360v. I’m not sure why that is. Then I adjusted the timings and increased the frequency, ending up at 3200mhz. I’ll keep checking for stability, but it seems fine so far.
