You're thinking carefully about the impact of mods on your system. It's smart to worry about stability—mods can sometimes affect performance or cause issues if not handled properly. Just make sure you're using reputable sources and backing up your files before making changes.

Highly improbable. A single post from a questionable source could cause any immediate harm.

They’re likely only affecting your game files. You usually work on things like the art package, monster quality, and similar items that reside in the game’s installation folder. The rest of your system should remain intact. Even more important when modding: always save any files you plan to alter. This ensures you can restore a pristine, unmodified version if needed.

Unless you're altering the BIOS settings on the GPU to boost its power or performing risky CPU overclocking, it's generally not advisable.

Depends on the game and the location that you use to get the mod from, if it's a shady game or modsite then it has a chance... still very unlikely... CommonSense TM works the best!

The only risk of modifying a PC comes from physically damaging the PCB, chips, or using tools like a saw, drill, or hammer.

It’s feasible though rare. Certain elements change DLL files that other programs rely on. Make sure to create a full system backup first. Try searching online for “Windows 7/8/8.1 backup guide” using only Windows tools—this way you avoid extra costs and have peace of mind knowing you can recover your PC if needed.
