Hello, I own an older Dell Inspirion 3647. The motherboard is Dell Inc. 02YRK5 and the RAM inside is 8 gigabytes dual channel DDR3 at 665 MHz. (9-9-9-24). I recently installed some new RAM, but I'm unsure if it will work properly. After installing, the machine powers on and then shuts off again. The product label states the device is rated for a maximum of 16 gigabytes. According to the Dell specifications document:

Please ensure your BIOS was updated before installing the new RAM. If you're unsure, start with one stick and progress gradually. If needed, try swapping memory slots. Could you share a link to the RAM kit you bought?

Hi everyone, sorry for the delayed update. I went back in and re-seated the RAM; the BIOS was already up to date with the latest release. It was an older machine. When I restarted it, everything worked fine and ran smoothly. It might have been a bit finicky—maybe something was slightly loose—but now it's good to go. Thanks for your help.
