Hi, here’s what your current setup looks like.
You’re using a RYZEN 5 5600X, GTX 1660 SUPER, and several motherboards.
Your CPU cooler is a Be Quiet Pure Rock 2 model, paired with two 8 GB RAM sticks at 3200MHZ.
You have a 250GB WD Blue NVMe SSD, an 1TB Samsung 970 EVO Plus NVMe drive, and a 1TB Seagate Barracuda HDD.
The case is a Corsair CX650 in ATX black with normal fans and no RGB.
Your monitor is a DELL U2515H.

You’re considering upgrading your graphics card and were thinking about the RTX 3060 12 GB.
You want to confirm if it will work well with your Corsair CX650.
The power supply is two years old, and you haven’t overclocked anything yet.
Let me know.

The Corsair CX650 power supply received positive feedback from users. It offers good value and can handle a mid-range setup effectively.

I've also checked the 3060 TI, RX 6600 XT, and think they should work with the Corsair CX650. However, I'm not sure which one to choose, so I'll ask that question on the Graphics Card forum.

CX650 serves as a solid LLC + DC-DC device capable of handling a 3070. A 3060 works perfectly fine.

Appreciated, thank you for your response. The information is very helpful. I just removed the side panel of my case and confirmed it is a CX650M. The link provided shows the PSU details. It’s a black case with a grey logo.

I observe that my 1660 super has 8 pins (6+2) connected to it, while the newer cards seem to use 12 pins. Along the same cable length as the 6+2 connector, there’s another 6+2 pin connector further back. I wonder if I can connect both the 6-pin parts from the same cable to a new graphics card?

CX650M performs poorly because of the double forward topology on the main side, unlike the LLC design, while an RTX 3060 would work fine. I wouldn't install a 3070 here.

The 12 pin on the GPU is likely a 12v HPWR connector. Is there an adapter included that changes from an 8 pin PCI-e to this 12 pin 12v HPWR?

I agree with SID's comment about the PSU. It seems suitable for a 3060 or an RX 6600, though it's right at the limit. If you upgraded to a 3070 or RX 6800, I'd definitely consider a better option.

Hi, I reviewed the packaging/boxes the PC arrived in and discovered a spare 6+2 PCI cable, which means I now have two 6+ cables. I also noticed on checking the GPUs that many come with a 12 to 8 pin adapter.

I reviewed the Nvidia website for the 3060 and 3060 TI models and found a 550w PSU recommendation when using AMD 5. I need either the 3060 or 3060 TI, as their TDP is 200w and websites suggest a 550w PSU. I'm hoping my CX650M will work.
