The problem is that Microsoft said Windows 10 would get updates for five more years after Windows 11 came out. By the time support ends, assuming people stop buying new computers from 2018 onward, a computer will run for about seven years. Only crazy people buy parts like that just because they feel something is missing (FOMO). Even then, you can keep using your old system after it stops getting updates. Also, I think activation won't stop anytime soon. Just checking Google and finding out how to activate Windows 7 proves I'm right there. But even if Microsoft turns off the servers for activation, someone must have figured out how to bypass them like they did with XP. Either way, I can't see any reason why Microsoft would do something different than what they've always done in the past twenty years.
