I have this Sony Vaio PCG-71318l, and I was thinking about upgrading the CPU. My sister suggested installing Hackintosh on this laptop after I mentioned you could run macOS on any PC. The main reason I can't buy another laptop is that my mom doesn't want me to get a new one since we already have one. The CPU in this laptop isn't compatible with Hackintosh, so I'm wondering what CPU would work for it.

Laptop CPUs are seldom upgradable.
They typically use BGA...surface mount connections to the motherboard.
Even without that, the BIOS and cooling setup prevent swapping to a more powerful model.
In addition, the current CPU is quite old—about 11 years. Any compatible parts are also around that age. It’s not worth the trouble to replace or modify it.

In this situation, the CPU has a socket and could be upgraded. But all CPUs with the same socket, including i7s, are limited to no more than 2 cores, making it not a good upgrade for just a bit faster clockspeed.
