Hey there, after all the preparation, the Steam summer sale is now open and I’m thinking about getting the Fallout 3 GOTY update. But I’m holding off because the Steam site says I can’t play since I have Windows 8.1. Can I still enjoy it on that version, or should I wait until I upgrade? Thanks and keep grooving!

I would be extremely surprised if it didn't work.

There are compatibility settings available if needed, according to what ShadowCaptain mentioned.

You need to go through several instructions since it doesn't apply to all users.

Mom's business failed miserably. I'm going to outdo anyone who ever tried.

Typically you need to install games for Windows Live first, and I’m not sure if the issue has been fixed.

You’ll likely have to set up Windows Live games first, then get a mod to turn off GFWL so everything functions. Also, make sure to launch the game using compatibility settings.

You can make it work, there is an unofficial patch, at least for Win 7. Just look for it before you buy.
