I purchased a peladn rx 580 2048sp with a single 6-pin connector. This connector supports up to 75W, and the PCIe lanes also allow 75W, meaning the GPU can draw a maximum of 150W. I own an i5 6400 with DDR4 RAM, one SSD, and three HDDs. If the i5 6400 uses 65W, can I safely connect a thermaltake 350W PSU to power the GPU?

Thermaltake represents the PSU, and 350W denotes the claimed power output. The specific model and its age are not provided.

Litepower 350W, lasts roughly 5 to 6 years.

You have the option, though it isn't ideal. The issue is that your PSU lacks the necessary six-pin connector. Using adapters to fix this can be dangerous.

I have two adapter cables for the six pin connector on a graphics card. Both work but they have different input connectors. One of them has two molex adapters on the other end and the other one has a sata connector. My power supply supports both methods. Now my question is, why does one of them...

This PSU isn't recommended to use. It's likely one of the worst products Thermaltake has ever offered, especially given their history of low-quality items. It doesn't even meet basic power requirements for modern PCs from around 1999; for those built after that, it's essentially a 300W unit. Unless you're not planning to own an RX 580 for a long time.

Just checking if the GPU functions properly, plan to upgrade to a 550W power supply soon.

Ensure you remove it right away once you've checked it thoroughly.

The claims about rx 80 2048 sp 8gb being faulty or resold are just noise—someone is using cheap PSU and weak components. The RX 550 needs around 400W, and the RX 580 unless you overvolt and underclock will eventually fail. Save money by getting a good PSU instead of spending 150-300 dollars on a new PC.
